What is it?

A paid and supported 5-week summer job for young people aged 16–20 who are facing challenges. The programme will be run during the summer holidays and includes a preparation week, 5 weeks of work experience and wraparound support from a youth worker. Young people will be paid for their participation.

We are offering 20 job opportunities for young people.

You will need to have the right to work.

Once you pass the interviews and selected, you will need to attend the mandatory preparation week workshops before starting your work placement.

Where are the Jobs

Job opportunities will be in Bexley and Bromley areas. Employment will be across various industries.

What is the Contract like

– You will for 25 Hours a week over 6 weeks
– Salary is £12.71 per hour.
– Applications will be selected through Randomised Control Group- End of May
– Participants will be matched to their work placements at the end of June
– Prep Week for Placement, beginning July.
– Work place starts (20 July – 31 August)
– End of Programme Celebration Events- Mid September.

YOUNG PERSON JOB ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To apply for this programme, you must meet the following eligibility criteria. Young people who do not meet the criteria will not be eligible to participate, even where it is felt the programme might benefit them.

– Minimum age 16 (on or before 22nd May 2026)
– Maximum age 20 (on or before 22nd May 2026)
– Has the right to work in the UK and can provide documentation
– Able to take part in 25 hours of employment each week (with reasonable adjustments)
– Not currently employed for more than 15 hours per week
– Available to participate in at least 5 of the 6 weeks of the programme
– Must be able to attend the preparation week
– Living in one of the areas that the programme is delivered in and not planning to move out of the area during the duration of the programme
– Not living in the secure estate (at the start of the programme)
– Proficiency in spoken English
– Not currently charged with a serious offence
– Not studying towards a degree
