The Covid-19 lockdown brought an opportunity for young people to creatively work to secure their future. With the projected rise in unemployment among young people, Active Horizons has sought to ensure that young people are better prepared not to fall into the economic doldrums.
We are crowdfunding for a target of £8,000 to support 25 young people to establish and succeed in self-employment using their passion. This will be delivered through our flagship “ICAN Young Entrepreneurs Program”, an intensive, interactive platform exclusively for young people from marginalised backgrounds this includes, from low income families, excluded from school, at risk of crime, in care, Black Minority and Ethnic communities.
The program is focused on delivering 3 core elements which are
- Training Workshop
- Mentoring
- Small Seed fund.
We envisage that this will be a success because we delivered a pilot scheme to 17 young people during lockdown, offering practical and interactive online entrepreneurial training to equip them with the right inspiration, knowledge, and skills to create their own businesses. The pilot scheme was successful with transformative results enabling young people to successfully launch their businesses, increase their confidence, acquire skills and reinforce a positive attitude.
We need your help to reach our target before 1st December 2020, please go to our crowdfunding page to donate. The page has more exciting information and updates of how the young people are progressing in their entrepreneurial journey.
I like the efforts you have put in this, regards for all the great blog posts.
