In 2026, Active Horizons proudly celebrates 20 years of empowering young people, uplifting migrant and refugee communities, and building spaces where belonging thrives. What began in 2006 as a youth‑led grassroots initiative has grown into a vibrant, award‑winning organisation rooted in dignity, creativity, and community care. For two decades, we have championed the voices of young people nurturing their leadership, amplifying their stories, and creating opportunities for them to rise with confidence and pride.

20 Years of Impact
Over the years, thousands of young people have shaped Active Horizons into what it is today. Together, we have:

• Built safe, culturally grounded spaces for Black, migrant, and refugee youth
• Delivered transformative programmes in arts, heritage, tech, wellbeing, and leadership
• Supported families navigating migration, identity, and systemic barriers
• Fostered a community where young people feel seen, valued, and powerful
  This anniversary is a celebration of resilience, creativity, and collective action. It honours every young person who has led a project, every parent who trusted us, every partner who believed in our mission, and every supporter who stood with us.

Looking Ahead
As we celebrate this milestone, we are also stepping boldly into the future. This year, we will deepen our work in systematic change, skills development, entrepreneurship, health and wellbeing, expand creative and tech pathways, strengthen youth leadership, and continue building spaces where young people can thrive on their own terms.
