Racial Justice Work
We take proactive steps to address racial injustice, amplifying the voices and experiences of young people. Through organizing, mobilising, and empowering racially minoritised youth, we foster positive and effective change.
According to Metropolitan Police reports, racist hate crime is consistently the most common form of hate crime in Bexley, London. Over the past year, reports have increased by 8.27%, with particularly concerning incidents in the wards of Bexleyheath, Crayford, Thamesmead East, Sidcup, Erith, Slade Green, and
Northend.
Unfortunately, young people often face racism in schools, communities, public
transport, and neighbourhoods. Left unchallenged, these experiences can profoundly impact their well-being, mental health, and future opportunities. This must end.
Empowering young people
through leadership development, self- awareness training, and encouraging them to speak up.
Promoting community engagement
by organising events that bring people together with shared understanding and solidarity.
Collaborating with schools
to uphold anti-racist standards, scrutinising policies, and working alongside teaching staff and governors’ boards.
Providing one-on-one support
to advocate for young people experiencing discrimination.
Building cross-sector partnerships
To ensure young people’s voices are heard and their concerns are addressed with genuine intent.
Offering advocacy assistance
including mediation meetings, listening support, and representation when needed.
